Careers electrician apprenticeships Comments Off
The working tasks of a maintenance electrician will depend to a large extent on the type of building in which they work. Those that successfully complete their electrician apprenticeships can typically choose to work in the residential or commercial market.
Maintenance electricians that concentrate on residential buildings will likely spend a great deal of their time fault finding and repairing networks when they are called in by a homeowner. However, they can also get involved in rewiring jobs to partially or fully replace the electrical network in a house or apartment.
Many larger commercial buildings and factories hire maintenance electricians. They will spend much of their time carrying out preventative maintenance to ensure that the building’s electrical system remains in decent working order. Factory electricians can also work with larger electrical equipment, such as generators and transformers. They will also need to have knowledge of factory equipment such as industrial robots.
